The Departure/ Day 42

Sunday morning was not happy morning. Sean wanted to get gong by 10am so everybody was up around 9-9:30am and stayed busy cleaning up Emily's place and packing up their things. We finished up around 10am and since I knew Sean wanted to get going, I asked to pray for everyone.

I prayed, then we finished moving the last couple things out to their vehicle and said our goodbyes. The cool thing about saying goodbye this time around was the fact that I knew I would see Brooke again in two weeks, as opposed to last time we said goodbye when I didnt think I would see her again for 9 weeks. Despite the bright side, our goodbye still wasn't very enjoyable.

Jonny and I waved as they drove off then we went back to the intern house. Between the two of us, we had decided we would go to night church in Parmalee and St. Francis but when we got home, we found a note reminding us that we had a team meeting that night. We knew we wouldn't have time to go to church after the meeting so we quickly got ready to go to the purple church in SF.

However, when we got into SF, Jonny decided we should go to the Holiness Chapel because he felt bad going to another church when he told them that he would be there each week. We walked in kind of late but it was really cool to see some of the kids from kids club in church that Sunday! I really enjoyed my time there and I might continue to go there for the next couple weeks.

After church, Jonny and I cleaned up the bathroom, the kitchen, and did the dishes. The rest of the interns came home and they started cleaning up as well. Then Jonny and I went over to Sarah and Emily's houses to grab some stuff.

We spent the rest of our afternoon helping Greg out at his place. Moving some stuff and just hanging out. Then we made our way back into Mission for our team dinner-- chicken salad, veggies, fruit, and lots goodness-- thanks to Laura. After dinner, we had a discussion about a very interesting excerpt regarding how Christianity was presented to Indians when the white people first came to the Americas. It was a really good discussion!

When we had finished our discussion, Jonny and I went out to SF to see Echo and Keoni. We had a lot of fun hanging out with them! While we were there, their uncle offered us fry bread which was awesome! I used to turn stuff down when it was offered to me but I've decided to start always excepting food or acts of hospitality out here cause it really makes the person offering the hospitality feel good.

We got back to Mission around 11pm and we were supposed to watch a movie with Greg, but he was really out of it when we stopped by. He told us to come back after we stopped home quick but after we stopped home and prayed with the interns, Kelly told us that he wasn't going to get back up. Bummer. Maybe tomorrow night.

Since Greg was out, Jonny and I didn't really feel like watching the movie by ourselves so we just called it a night. That's our Sunday! Thank you so much for reading and for supporting me during my time out here!

God bless,
Brenden

Things I learned today:
1. Sometimes I can learn more from a  children's church service than an adult church service.
2. Jonny doesn't dance.
3. 2 Kings 21
